- Provided in our office using the state of the art Philips-Adac, Cardio MD Imaging Equipment.
- Nuclear agents used: Thallium, Myoview and/or Adenosine.
The nuclear imaging is performed in two parts; when the heart is at stress and when it is at rest. The nuclear camera takes two sets of pictures (or images) when the blood vessels are dilated ("at stress") and the second set shows the heart during normal functioning (referred to as "at rest").
Patients are in our office for approximately 2 to 2½ hours for the duration of resting images, walking the treadmill (or medication given to duplicate the heart during exercise) and then for images taken after the treadmill portion is completed.
- Dr. Rogers is present in our office during the nuclear testing. The nuclear images are sent to the nuclear boarded physicians at Emory University for an over-read. Results of nuclear imaging are given to the patient with 24 hours of the test.
